Grade 12 Graduation: Celebrating the Journey
Michelle Van Buuren

On Friday the 2nd of June, the Grade 12 ISN Class of 2023 celebrated the end of their school career with a wonderful Graduation Ceremony.

The event was held at the beautiful Auberge du Rédier, where the students proudly entered the venue, wearing their gowns and caps.  Director of ISN, Mrs Curtis, welcomed everyone to the Graduation Ceremony and commenced with her Director’s Address.

The two Valedictorians, Charlotte De Wever and Victor Didion, took to the stage to address the students, families and faculty. They both delivered poignant and thought provoking speeches, thanked their families for their support and bid their alma mater and the faculty farewell.

“Being able to express my thoughts in front of a large slice of ISN’s community was an enriching and unforgettable experience”, Charlotte De Wever

Grade 12 Homeroom teachers, Mrs Pieri and Mr Dubois, then proceeded to present the special awards. The subject teachers selected the special award recipients. The award winners were as follows:

Mrs Curtis then presented each student with their High School Diplomas. The students proudly took to the stage to accept their award in front of their family, peers and the ISN faculty. This was followed by closing remarks and, as per tradition, the ceremony ended in the traditional throwing of the caps.

All guests were then able to enjoy the refreshments and a buffet, which took place in the lovely gardens of the venue.

“I am exceptionally proud of all our graduating students in Grade 12. They have persevered through unprecedented challenges, and have consistently honoured ISN with their resilience and determination. Congratulations to all our graduates and a special mention to our Valedictorians Charlotte De Wever and Victor Didion,” Mel Curtis, Directrice ISN.

Thank you to the team that organised this event. Specifically to the PTA, who added decor and special touches to make it an event to remember. To Mrs Le Gal and the Grade 12 Homeroom teachers, as well as Mr Booth, the technical specialist. Furthermore, thank you to the teachers who presented the special awards and who played such an important role in the lives of the Grade 12 students.

As the graduates of ISN move forward into the next phase of their lives, we remind them that this is not an end – it is a new beginning, filled with endless possibilities!
