1Village: ISN Grade 6 Students Connecting with the World!

ISN are proud to announce that our Grade 6 students (French Language B) had the privilege of participating in an exceptional international pilot program this year: 1Village.
Resulting from a collaboration between the Eco-School program and the association Par le Monde, this digital pen-pal project allowed our young citizens to forge links across borders and experience a true sense of brotherhood.
What is the “1Village” project?
It is an intercultural digital school correspondence program that connects children from two countries who speak or are learning French. Our students joined a "World-Village," a virtual community made up of about twenty classes from France and Morocco.
A three-step educational journey
Throughout the school year, the class followed a path rich in discovery:

Discover: Reflecting on one's own identity and exploring the culture of the partner country.

Exchange: Sharing daily life, culture, and hobbies through games and video reports.

Imagine: Co-creating an ideal "world-village" based on justice and equity.
Learning Differently: Sustainable Development and Citizenship
Beyond practicing French, this project raised students' awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and children's rights. The activities were as fun as they were varied:

Sharing family recipes to celebrate culinary diversity.

Challenges and riddles on the dedicated digital platform.

Creating the anthem for our World-Village.
At the end of this adventure, each student proudly received a diploma, symbolizing their commitment to a more inclusive and supportive society.
