Celebrating Our Grade 11 IGCSE and Outstanding Pearson Learners

Celebrating Our Grade 11 IGCSE and Outstanding Pearson Learners
Novairah Ahmad

Our ISN community recently came together to celebrate the culmination of the IGCSE journey for our Grade 11 students — a moment representing two years of commitment, curiosity, resilience, and hard work.

At ISN, we know that examinations are just one part of a larger story: the story of learning to think deeply, persevere, collaborate, and uphold the values that shape confident global citizens. The achievements recognised during this special assembly reflect the strength of that story. We are immensely proud of each student for the maturity and dedication they have shown, and we are grateful to our teachers and families for their guidance and support every step of the way.

The celebration, held on Monday 24th November 2025, featured the presentation of Cambridge and Pearson certificates by ISN Director, Mrs. Curtis. Grade 10 students, teachers, and parents also attended to honour this milestone.

A highlight of the ceremony was Pearson’s Outstanding Learner Awards (OPLAs), presented to students who achieved the highest subject marks in their country during the 2024/2025 exam series. According to Pearson:

"Every year we recognise and celebrate Pearson Edexcel learners around the world who have demonstrated academic excellence at the very highest levels in their exam performance. Our Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards are presented to those learners in each exam series who have achieved the highest subject mark in their country, in the region, and around the world. I therefore have great pleasure in announcing the learners from your school who will receive 2025 Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards for their outstanding results achieved in the 2024/2025 examination series. Your learner(s) is among over 2,100 learners from 740 schools in 85 countries globally who are eligible to receive the award out of thousands of candidates who sat a Pearson Edexcel exam in 2024/25. Congratulations to you and your school for all the hard work and dedication in supporting your learners to deliver such impressive results."

We are proud to share that three of our students received this distinction:

  • Louis – History highest mark in France

  • Agata – Geography joint highest mark in France

  • Mark – Geography joint highest mark in France

Pearson Regional Manager, Mr. Luke Sweetman, joined virtually from Madrid and congratulated the students, noting that the celebration reflected ISN’s commitment not just to academic success, but also to character, resilience, and perseverance.

Students also shared inspiring reflections on their IGCSE journey:

“Success comes from intention, consistency, and the daily effort you put into your ambitions. If you commit to that process, the results will follow.” – Louis

“The best advice I can give you is not to let the amount of content intimidate you and just do as many past papers as you can — they help you understand how examiners think and manage your time.” – Agata

“People say it’s all about discipline, but two things matter even more: loving what you do, and having a greater purpose.” – Mark

Special awards were also presented for outstanding, excellent, and noteworthy results across subjects, culminating in the presentation of IGCSE certificates to all students.

We are exceptionally proud of our Grade 11 students and look forward to all that lies ahead on their educational journey.
