Globeducate Eco-Week 2022!
Globeducate Eco-Week 2022!
Jennifer Wallace
Eco-Week is a movement that was created in 2005 with a passion to change habits – “habits change climate change”. ISN Nice, along with many other Globeducate schools, organised a huge range of activities from the 14-18 March to educate students and staff, and to celebrate our planet.
Last week we celebrated Globeducate Eco-week with other schools across the world. A huge range of activities were organised at ISN for Primary, Middle and High School, many of them spearheaded by our students. Our objectives where:
-
To reduce the litter and waste footprint of communities through changes in students’ attitude
-
To increase student knowledge and practical skills in preventing and managing litter and waste
-
To improve students’ behaviour in preventing and managing litter and waste
-
To raise awareness on issues related to local litter and waste treatment and solutions through articles, photographs and videos
Here are some of the amazing initiatives we saw during the week
- No paper day. Students and teachers were challenged to go paper free!
- No lights on in the classroom day
- Planting a new herb garden
- An audio exhibition around the school, you can listen to the tour from home here!
- A recycling workshop in the Primary School
- A relay quiz on recycling and sustainability
- Ecological art
- An eco-song with Mrs Gilli performed by the Primary School
- An eco friendly bake sale
Thank you to all the teachers and students or your support, participation and collaboration this week. What fantastic team work!
