ISN held a special celebration to honour the achievements of its Grade 11 students, who received their IGCSE certificates after completing their exams at the end of the last school year. The event recognised the hard work and dedication of these students during their IGCSE years, celebrating their academic commitment and accomplishments.

Mel Curtis, ISN’s Director, expressed her pride in the students, stating:
"It was a pleasure to present the Grade 11 students with their IGCSE certificates. The hard work and commitment that was put in by these students through their IGCSE years was commendable. Congratulations to all!"

As part of the celebration, the top ISN student for each IGCSE subject was also recognised and awarded a certificate for their exceptional performance. These students, who excelled in subjects ranging from Mathematics to Literature, were celebrated for their diligence and academic excellence, setting a high standard for future cohorts.

A highlight of the event was Jack Robinson's exceptional achievement. Jack was awarded the 2024 Outstanding Pearson Learner Award for achieving the highest mark in France in the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Physics examination for May/June 2024. The Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards recognise students who excel in their exams, celebrating those who achieve the highest marks at national, regional, and global levels. Jack’s outstanding accomplishment was further honoured as he received his certificate from Rob Jamieson, Head of International Channels & Partnerships and Regional Development Manager (France, Monaco, ANZ) at Pearson Schools Qualifications.

Rob Jamieson, who presented Jack with his award, highlighted the importance of exams in education, "Exams help you become a more resilient learner. They are one of the more stressful experiences in your learning journey to date, but that stress is not for nothing. Life and work are full of stresses, and learning how to organise your ideas, manage your emotions, and perform under pressure are valuable skills for life."

Novairah Ahmad, ISN’s IGCSE Coordinator, praised Jack’s achievement:
"We are immensely proud of Jack’s outstanding achievement in the exams of summer 2024. He is an exceptional student who has set high standards of achievement, work ethic, and commitment. Congratulations to ISN’s fantastic team of teachers, especially Mr. Sacuto, Jack’s Physics teacher, who support our students to build on their strengths and maximise their potential."

Jack himself delivered a heartfelt speech, reflecting on his journey and encouraging younger students:
"I'm sure a lot of us in my class remember sitting where the Grade 10s are right now, watching Sheryn receive her Pearson award last year. I distinctly remember thinking that there was no way I could ever reach the same level of achievement, yet I stand here in front of you today, which I suppose serves as a testament to the fact that you never know what is achievable. So to all the Grade 10s in the audience, do your best, as you will see the rewards. You never know how great you could become until you try.

Of course, I would like to thank many people for their help in obtaining this award. I would like to thank my parents for allowing me to remain enveloped in my work, even when they wanted to go out and do things. I would also like to thank Mr. Sacuto for his expert support throughout the course—it really wouldn't have been possible without you. Finally, I would like to thank all of my classmates for helping me push further, whether it was from competition or support. Thank you, everybody."

Stephane Sacuto, Jack's IGCSE Physics teacher and IB/DP Physics teacher at ISN, also shared his admiration for Jack’s success:
"I am incredibly proud of Jack’s outstanding achievement in his IGCSE Physics 2024 results. His commitment, seriousness, and resilience set an exemplary standard for all students to follow. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my wonderful team of science teachers, led by the dynamic and inspiring Melanie Laroche. Their unwavering support and dedication play a key role in enriching each student’s scientific knowledge."

ISN is proud of all its students and their accomplishments, and the IGCSE Award Celebration marked a significant milestone in their academic journeys. The school looks forward to more successes in the future as these students continue to excel.
