ISN Shows Its Solidarity in the Fight Against Cancer at the Jogging Rose 2025 Event

The ISN Community once again proudly took part in the Jogging Rose, an inspiring charity event that has become a cherished tradition. Each year, this special day celebrates solidarity, compassion, and hope in support of breast cancer awareness and research.
Organised by Mrs. Barbara Prot, President of SOS Cancer du Sein and Municipal Councillor for Health Prevention and Education for the City of Nice, the event took place along the city’s iconic Promenade des Anglais. The Jogging Rose and Marche Rose are part of Octobre Rose (Pink October), France’s national breast cancer awareness month, dedicated to promoting early detection, prevention, and unity in the fight against this disease.

This year, more than 5,000 participants of all ages came together to take part in either a friendly 7 km run or a 5 km walk. Dressed in every shade of pink, runners and walkers filled the seafront with energy, laughter, and enthusiasm, creating a vibrant atmosphere of togetherness and shared purpose.
For ISN, taking part in the Jogging Rose goes far beyond sport — it is a meaningful expression of the school’s core values of solidarity, empathy, and community engagement. Each year, students, families, and teachers unite to support this vital cause, showing how collective action can truly make a difference.

“Participating in the Jogging Rose was a wonderful experience, filled with positive energy and a strong sense of community. I'm grateful to be part of such a caring and joyful group, where students, staff, parents, and friends came together for a special cause. It was a beautiful, sunny day in Nice, perfect for enjoying physical activity and happy moments.” - Lorna Jones, ISN Director of Sport and Health.
ISN was also honoured to join Mrs. Maty Diouf, Deputy Mayor of Nice in charge of Women’s Rights, Equality, and Solidarity. Deeply committed to women’s health and empowerment, Mrs. Diouf’s presence underscored the importance of standing together in the fight against breast cancer.

The event also supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 3: Good Health and Well-being, promoting active lifestyles, mental health, and care for others.
"The Jogging Rose run was a revelatory activity, and I feel very fortunate to have witnessed the vast number of walkers and runners mobilising themselves for breast cancer awareness. It was nourishing seeing the promenade flooded in bright pink, and both the direct, and indirect support provided throughout the entirety of this event. I commend and express my gratitude to our CAS coordinator, all participants and our city for this enriching activity, and feel fortunate to have been introduced to an event which placed resilience at its forefront."- Finn, Grade 12 Student

"It’s always such an inspiring and uplifting event — running (or walking) together for a great cause surrounded by so much positive energy, pink vibes, and community spirit. Lets us all openly talk about it at workplaces, social events, family gatherings and raise awareness about prevention of breast cancer!" - Santanu Bhowmik, IBDP Coordinator
Throughout the morning, the Promenade des Anglais came alive with music, smiles, and celebration as participants walked and ran side by side toward a common goal. Once again, ISN demonstrates that when a community unites for a cause, every step counts in the fight against cancer.
