ISN Students Attend the International Education & Sustainability Summit
Mélanie Laroche

The International Education & Sustainability Leadership Summit 2025, held in Monaco from March 5-7, brought together educators, industry leaders, and students to address pressing global challenges. Five Grade 11/12 students: Sophia, Victoria, Hugo, Diego, and Cody, participated in this transformative event.

Over these three intense and challenging days, we explored the interconnected dimensions of the current polycrisis, focusing on ocean action, equity and equality, and regenerative leadership.

The highlights of the summit included:

  1. A thought-provoking symposium featuring experts from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership and the Prince Albert II Foundation.
  2. Interactive sessions on systems thinking for sustainability and the role of education in addressing global issues.
  3. A "Stories that Move" segment, where sector leaders shared their perspectives on sustainability and regenerative economics.
  4. A Student-led session that provided valuable feedback and insights to the plenary sessions.

"In the sustainability summit that took place in Monaco, I discovered how many people around the world dedicate their whole lives into saving the planet, this encouraged not only me but also my peers to take action at our own school. It brought me into a reality where I realized that the responsibility is ours, and I hope that we can carry out our upcoming plans in the near future to help ISN become even more eco-friendly" - Sophia, Grade 11

"Small actions lead to big change - our generation holds the power to create a sustainable future." - Victoria. Grade 11

The experience proved ultimately uplifting as we all reflected on our roles and responsibilities in both personal and professional domains, with a particular focus on education's potential to drive change. The summit concluded with a commitment to connected action, inspiring hope among the students.

Motivated by their experience, our students decided to organize a workshop for high school students on sustainability to conclude next Friday during our eco week. This initiative demonstrates the summit's success in empowering young leaders to take immediate action in their communities.

Together, we can and we will make a more sustainable world!
