Sport, Friendship and Global Connections: ISN at the Globeducate Olympics

Students from International School of Nice took part in the Globeducate Global Olympics 2026, hosted by Boundary Oak School, joining approximately 180 student-athletes from 24 schools across 7 countries within the Globeducate network.

The event brought together young athletes from across Europe for a celebration of sport, teamwork and international friendship, offering students the opportunity to compete, collaborate and connect beyond the classroom.

Throughout the event, ISN students participated in a wide range of sports and activities, including:

• High jump
• Vortex throw
• Long jump
• Track events (100m, 400m, relays)
• Lacrosse
• Archery
• Pickleball
• Orienteering
• Uni hockey
• Table tennis
• Football

Across each discipline, students demonstrated enthusiasm, determination and resilience, embracing new challenges and pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones.

Representing ISN were Dylan, Paolo, Gigi, Noel, Hugo and Elias, who competed alongside peers from across Europe with outstanding enthusiasm, respect and sportsmanship.

The students showed confidence and adaptability throughout the event, reflecting ISN’s values of being caring, reflective and open-minded learners. Working closely with students from other schools, they built new friendships and developed meaningful international connections, strengthening the spirit of global collaboration.

Despite an unexpected heatwave in England, the group remained determined and supportive of one another, demonstrating resilience under challenging conditions and consistently representing ISN with pride.

Dylan, Grade 8, shared his experience:

“The Globeducate Olympics was a really fun experience. I got to meet new people and try different sports. My favourite sport was lacrosse because I had never played it before, and it was fun learning something new. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I’m really glad I had the chance to be part of it.”

Noel, Grade 6, reflected on his participation:

“My experience at the GE Olympics was amazing and really fun. I enjoyed competing with other students, trying new activities, and working together as a team. It helped me build confidence, sportsmanship, and make new friends. I felt proud to represent the Sports Council/our school, and I am thankful for the opportunity to take part in such an amazing event.”

The Global Olympics provided ISN students with an invaluable opportunity to develop key life skills including collaboration, agility, resilience and leadership. Beyond sport, the event encouraged students to take risks, embrace new experiences and grow as confident global citizens.

By representing International School of Nice on an international stage, the students embodied the school’s commitment to holistic education, wellbeing and international-mindedness, returning with lasting memories, strengthened friendships and a deeper sense of global connection.
