We have had a record number of 78 students sign up for LAMDA exams this March. Students from grade 4 Lower School up to Grade 11 High School were entered for external London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Exams in Public Speaking, Verse and Prose, Acting Monologues and Musical Theatre from levels 1 beginner to Gold level 8. The external examiner, Mrs Treherne was kept busy for four days!
In preparation for the exams, as well as class time in Drama and English lessons and private singing lessons, and LAMDA as an after school activity, some students attended a Voice Workshop on March 8th. The voice workshop was organized by Pauline Minnis and lead by her and three Drama/Music/Voice coaches: our Music teachers Valerie Trubert, Dee Penicaut and Anna Fill, Editor of The Riviera Womanonline webzine featuring articles and interviews.
14 ISN students from Lower, Middle and High school took exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music on May 19th. The visiting examiner spent 3 days in the area visiting Mougins and the International School of Monaco as well as ISN. Candidates at ISN took exams in singing, piano and saxophone and we are delighted to announce a 100 % success rate. Top marks went to Nina Avital in grade 4 who achieved a distinction in grade 3 piano. Congratulations to all these hard working music students.
Following on from that 6 ISN students joined 3 outside candidates to take the ABRSM music theory exam on Saturday June 14th including 2 brave grade 8 students who had only just returned from the Florence trip! We wish them luck with results.
